With immense pride and inspiration ,after six years of the first Mukam Marathon held in 2020 we are back to present you all , the second edition of the Mukam Marathon – 2026 . Immerse yourself too in the pride and inspiraton upon being a part of a run which is meant for the Nature ,of the Nature and by the Nature, and celebrate your achivement on the holy landscapes of the thar marusthal where prophet Jambhoji was born.

Mukam is the place, from where the worlds first ecologist’s, environmentalists’ and eco-warrior’s emerged . Bishnoi’s are the pioneer’s of sustainable development. The name is not a title nor it is a caste and not even a religion, infact it is a way of thinking and a way of living ,in harmony and in accordance with the universal law ” The law of the Nature ” . Bishnois are defending and protecting this law for more than five centuries. Since 1485 they are trying to give something in return for what the nature has given to us all by following and spreading vision of their Guru Jambheswar bhagwan ,whom they believe as the incarnation of lord vishnu.

As the global challenges of todays world are rising at an alarming rate ,while development is carrying a huge cost with it and no society or civilization in the world is untouched from its costs .  

So to act upon and doing our part which we owe to the nature ,we are taking a small step in the form of organizing a Marathon in the form of run for a cause ,which is to be held on sunday, 15th of february ,2026 on the occasion of Maha Shivratri and a day before the annual Mukam Mela starts where lacs of Bishnoi’s come and gather to pay homage and celebrate the gurus vision.

As the first edition of mukam marathon 2020 was for the cause which had its root in expressing  heartfull concern for the millions of wild animals that were burned to ashes in the devastating wildfires of the Australian continent. In the same spirit , the second edition of the marathon, a true tribute  tribute through this run to the brave wildlife protector ,Late Shri Radheshyam Pemani Bishnoi, who sacrificed his life on 23, may 2025 while protecting the wildlife. Radheshyam Pemani Bishnoi who is also known as the Godawan man of India in Desert National park ,jaisalmer and its nearby border areas for his work on saving the crirically endangered state bird of Rajasthan Godavan ( Great Indian Bustard).

Wildlife lover, the late Radheshyam Pemani, not only recognized and understood desert biodiversity and ecological balance from a young age, but also embodied the teachings of Shri Guru Maharaj Jambhoji, “Jeev Daya Paalni” (Have Compassion towards all beings ), “Runkh Leelo Nahin Ghaave” (Do not cut Green Tree). Over time, this philosophy of Shri Guru Maharaj became the foundation of environmental awareness and ecological balance throughout the world. To bring the runners face to face with Shri Guru Maharaj Jambhoji’s love for nature, running through the holy places of Mukam, Samrathal, and Pipasar will be a unique experience. This initiative of the Mukam Marathon will not only promote sports but will also instill awareness among participants about health and fitness, as well as nature. With running as the mother of all sports, it will inspire them to once again excel at the national and international levels, bringing glory to the country and society. Seeing the tricolor flag raised high on every sports podium to the accompaniment of the national anthem, fill everyone with joy – Jai Hind.

Two flagship schemes will also be implimented one of which is being run by the Rajasthan State Government ‘Pehla Sukh Nirogi Kaya ,Nirogi Rajasthan , Samriddh Rajasthan ‘ and the other which is being under Prime Minister’s campaign ” Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam “
